Zoffman

At seven years old, Zoffman is in its prime racing years, and the record over a mile and three furlongs to a mile and four furlongs is the most encouraging part of the story. At those distances, it has won 1 from 5 races — 20%, or roughly 1 in every 5 — which is a meaningfully better return than its overall numbers suggest. When conditions suit and the distance is right, something clicks.

That last win came at Naas on 3 April 2025, which is now 15 months ago, and the recent form makes for difficult reading: finishes of 7, 13, 6, and three blanks from the last six races. Nothing there to suggest a winner is imminent. Its most frequent partner, jockey Colin Keane, has ridden Zoffman 11 times without a single win between them — a combination that has produced plenty of effort but no reward so far.

Trainer Noel Meade operates out of Castletown in County Meath and has sent out 42 winners this season, so this is a yard that clearly knows how to get horses to win races. The fact that Zoffman's first career win came at The Curragh back in September 2022 shows the horse has been competitive at one of Ireland's most prestigious venues. But the gap between that early promise and where things stand now is hard to ignore.

Zoffman raced just a day ago and remains active, which matters — this isn't a horse being nursed back from a setback, it's one that keeps competing. The question is whether the right race, at the right distance, on the right day finally brings everything together. Sixteen places say it keeps getting close. Three wins say it can do it. The most recent form says it hasn't found the answer yet.
