What we do know is that Zoar comes from a promising background on paper. The sire, No Nay Never, has built a strong reputation for producing quick, precocious youngsters who tend to hit the ground running early in their careers — exactly the kind of horse you want if you are hoping a two-year-old makes an impression in their first season. The dam, a daughter of Invincible Spirit, adds further speed to the mix. Invincible Spirit was one of the faster horses of his generation, and his offspring regularly pass that quality down the line.
Zoar is trained by Josh Halley, operating out of Fethard in County Tipperary. It is a small yard that has sent out 2 winners so far this season — a modest tally, but every winner matters when you are building a yard's reputation, and a debut winner from a well-bred juvenile would be a notable addition to that tally. Beyond that, there is simply nothing else to go on yet. Zoar's story is just beginning.
