Zesty Belle

Trained by M O Quigley at Portlaoise in Co Laois, Zesty Belle is part of a small yard that has managed just one winner this season. For a horse now at five years old with no wins to its name across those six attempts, patience is clearly being tested. That 4th place finish in the most recent race is marginally encouraging — it's the best result in this current stretch — but it's a long way from breaking the duck. Sometimes horses in this position simply lack the class to compete at the level they're being asked to race, while others are still maturing or waiting for conditions or distance to click. Without more detail on the courses, distances, or opposition faced, it's hard to say which applies here, but the pattern suggests Zesty Belle hasn't yet found its niche.
