Zarak Crown

The win came at Ayr on 17 September, now four weeks in the past. Since then, the form has been patchy: a fourth-place finish followed by another fourth, with only a second place in between. That dip suggests the initial promise has not yet settled into consistent results, which is not unusual for a young horse still learning its trade. Racing at two is about development and finding where a horse truly belongs; Zarak Crown is in that discovery phase right now, with recent runs suggesting it has work to do before it finds its rhythm again.

The horse is trained by Richard and Peter Fahey at Musley Bank in North Yorkshire, a yard that has already sent out 23 winners this season. The Faheys have form with young horses, and the fact that Zarak Crown has already tasted success suggests they have identified something worth developing. Given that the horse raced only a day ago and remains active, the yard are clearly keen to keep it busy — a sign they believe there is more to come.
