The key to getting the best from this one appears to be ground conditions. On normal, standard ground, Youdecide has won 2 of 5 races — a 40% win rate that nearly doubles its overall record. When the going gets soft or the track becomes muddy, or when the ground is firm and fast, this horse loses its edge. The puzzle, curiously, is Class 4 racing. Despite decent form elsewhere, Youdecide has failed to win in four attempts at that level, suggesting the yard may have found more success pitching it at slightly lower company. Regular partner Ben Jones, who has ridden the horse six times, has yet to find the winner's circle aboard it, which raises the question of whether a change of jockey for future outings might unlock another gear. With momentum building and a win recorded within days, Youdecide looks a horse worth following through the autumn.
