A 5-year-old with just two races under its belt, You Proof has made an immediate impression. The first run ended in fifth place, which is a perfectly respectable introduction to racing. The second was something better: a win at Limerick on 28 December 2025, which means this horse has won 1 of its 2 career races so far — a 50% win rate that almost no horse sustains over a long career, but which tells you this is a horse that figured things out quickly.

You Proof hasn't been seen on a racecourse since that Limerick victory, with roughly three months now passed since that win. A break of that length is not unusual — horses need time to recover, and a yard as large and well-resourced as Mullins' can afford to be patient — but it does mean there is a question mark over how sharply tuned the horse will be on its return. What works in its favour is the simple fact that it has already shown it can win. Not every horse manages that, and doing it in only your second attempt suggests there is genuine ability here. Being trained by the most successful yard in Irish racing does not hurt either.
