Yes And Yes

The partnership with jockey Lee Edwards has been the engine of his success. Together they have won three of their 16 races—a 19 per cent win rate—which is noticeably better than Yes And Yes manages with other riders. That consistency suggests the two understand each other, and Edwards knows how to get the best from him. Ground conditions matter too. On normal, standard ground he has won three of his nine races there (33 per cent), nearly double his overall rate. The softer or faster extremes do not suit him nearly as well, so his the yard will be watching the weather forecast carefully before each entry.

What stands out is his durability. At nine years old, most horses have long since been retired, yet Yes And Yes is still racing, still occasionally finding the winner's circle, and still showing the form that suggests he has not finished improving. He typifies the bread-and-butter racer that keeps the sport ticking over—not a star, but dependable, and occasionally catching his audience by surprise with a victory when everything lines up. His win at Chepstow in March 2025 marked his first success, and while he mostly competes at Class 5 level where wins are harder to come by, his recent run shows there is still a race or two left in him yet.
