That one win finally came at Kempton Park on 6 May 2026, which is only four weeks ago, so the memory is fresh. It arrived over a distance between seven furlongs and a mile — a range in which Yehudi has now won 1 race from 12 attempts, a modest 8% win rate — suggesting this is where the horse is most comfortable, even if victories have been hard to come by. Kempton's flat, artificial surface clearly suited on the day, and it will be worth watching whether the yard sends Yehudi back there to try and repeat the trick.

The recent form is actually quite encouraging. Reading from most recent backwards — third, first, sixth, fourth, fifth, second — there is a win and two placings in the last six races, which suggests Yehudi is in a decent patch of form right now. The sixth-place finish sticks out as the one blip, but otherwise this horse has been knocking on the door consistently. It raced just one day ago, so it is clearly fit and busy.

Mark Loughnane trains Yehudi from Rock Farm in Worcestershire, and the yard has been in good shape this season with 25 winners sent out. Interestingly, Billy Loughnane — almost certainly a family connection — has ridden Yehudi in 8 of its races without a win between them. That partnership finally ended when the breakthrough came, so it will be interesting to see whether the team sticks with the same combination going forward or makes a change. The fact that Yehudi has done all of its racing at Class 6 level, the lowest tier of racing in Britain, and still only managed one win from ten races at that grade, tells you this is a horse operating right at the edge of its comfort zone. But with form tightening and confidence from that recent win, it may have a little more to give yet.
