Win rate and top-3 rate will show once this horse has raced.
What we do know is the bloodline. Wurttemberg is by Kitasan Black, a Japanese superstar who won the country's two most prestigious long-distance races and became one of the most celebrated horses of his generation before becoming a hugely popular stallion. The dam — Wurttemberg's mother — comes from the French Deputy line, a branch of the family tree associated with toughness and versatility. On paper, at least, it is a combination that suggests a horse built to stay the trip and handle a variety of conditions.
The unusual thing here is the age. Most racehorses debut at two or three, so a six-year-old making their first appearance is genuinely rare. Whether that reflects a careful, unhurried preparation or simply a longer road to fitness, we cannot say — only the first race will begin to answer that question.
