Joel Parkinson and Sue Smith, who run one of Yorkshire's more productive yards out of High Eldwick — 42 winners already this season — have clearly taken the time to work Wudya out. The message from the stable is straightforward: she wants fast, dry ground, she's at her best over two miles to two and a half miles, and she's very much a summer horse. Run her on wet or muddy ground and you're probably wasting everyone's time. Get the conditions right and she's a different animal entirely.
The evidence backs that up. Her first win came at Killarney in July 2024, and her most recent at Bangor-on-Dee in July 2025 — both summer victories, both almost certainly on the kind of ground she prefers. At Class 3 level, one of the more competitive tiers in British racing, she's actually won 1 from 3 races, which works out at 33% — winning roughly 1 in every 3 attempts. That's an encouraging number and suggests she belongs at that level when everything falls into place.
Her recent form shows a fourth place, a couple of runs where she didn't finish in the placings, and that win at Bangor last July. She raced just yesterday, so she's clearly active and in the mix. The yard has said she'll be ready in the spring and aimed at the summer campaign — which means right now we're probably watching her find her feet as the better ground comes. Wudya is the kind of horse you don't write off. You just wait for July.
