Wrist Art's real story is about finding his groove with the right people. Teamed with jockey Wayne Hassett, his record improves noticeably: two wins from eleven races together (18%), which is nearly triple his career average. That's the kind of partnership that suggests both horse and rider understand each other. James Owen's Newmarket yard, which has already sent out 205 winners this season, has clearly kept Wrist Art competitive enough to keep racing and, more importantly, keep winning.

The horse runs best over middle distances between one mile three furlongs and one mile four furlongs, where he's won one from eight races (12%) — modest figures on paper, but those are the trips where he's shown his best form. His recent record is encouraging: a win followed by a third place and a second place in his last six runs shows he's racing well and mixing it with decent opposition. He typically competes at the lower end of the racing ladder, Class 6 level, where he's found his races. Wrist Art may never win headlines, but staying active and winning regularly at nine years old is no small achievement.
