Wood Whisperer

What makes this worth paying attention to, oddly enough, is the consistency — just not the kind any trainer wants. There is no fluky bad day in there, no race where something clearly went wrong. The form is stubbornly mediocre across the board, which raises genuine questions about whether Wood Whisperer is simply finding its level or whether better days are still ahead. At four years old, there is time to improve, but the clock is ticking.

Having raced just eleven days ago, Wood Whisperer is clearly still being given chances, and that in itself tells you something. The team have not given up. Whether the horse justifies that faith is the question every future race will need to answer.
