Without Love

Trainer Cian Hughes, based at Newcastle in Co. Dublin, has stuck with the horse through a lean spell. Without Love's recent form tells the story: in its last six races it has managed an eighth place, a sixth, two second-place finishes, a twelfth, and a fourth. There have been hints of better things — those two runner-up efforts suggest the horse can get close to winning — but Converting that potential into another victory has proved elusive. The horse raced just a day ago, so it remains active and Hughes's team are still looking for that breakthrough moment. With a yard that has sent out just two winners all season, patience may be needed, but Without Love's occasional placed efforts show there is something there to work with.
