Without Delay

At Musselburgh, on a mile course with plenty of bend, that ratio improves to almost 1 in 6. Her trainer Tracy Waggott at Spennymoor understands this perfectly. Waggott notes that Without Delay needs a bend and favours fast, dry ground—conditions under which she has won 3 of 22 races, a 14% win rate compared to her 9% average. The one-mile-one-furlong to one-mile-two-furlong range is also her sweet spot, where she has won 3 of 10 races, winning roughly 1 in every 3 attempts at that distance.

She last won 15 months ago at Catterick Bridge in July 2025, and her recent form reads as mixed: a win, a third, a second, a tenth, a ninth, and a seventh. That is inconsistent, and at seven years old she is no longer on an upward curve. Most of her racing comes at Class 6 level, where she has won 5 of 41 races. William Pyle, her most frequent rider, has won twice from 14 races together. Without Delay will likely need a combination of her ideal conditions—soft, dry ground, a course with turns, and a mile distance—to break back into the winner's circle. Musselburgh remains her hunting ground.
