Wingit

Recent form shows a horse trying hard but finishing out of the money more often than not. In the last six outings, Wingit has managed one second place and one fifth, but otherwise found itself further back in the field. It raced just yesterday, which suggests the horse is in regular work and the trainer sees enough in it to keep it competing. That kind of consistency—showing up every few days without winning—is the bread and butter of racing life for many horses. They are useful animals that give trainers something to run, but they sit in that frustrating middle ground where they rarely reach the winner's circle. Magee's yard has sent out eight winners this season, so the trainer knows how to saddle a horse capable of winning. Whether Wingit ever joins that tally remains to be seen, but for now it remains a horse that runs in the placings occasionally and out of the frame more often than not.
