What makes this worth watching, though, is context. Murphy's yard in Fethard, Co Tipperary has sent out 13 winners already this season, which means the stable is clearly in good form — the horses around Windsor Lily are firing. That can cut two ways: it suggests she is being given every chance to succeed, but it also means she is standing out for the wrong reasons in a yard that knows how to get results.
She raced just yesterday, so the yard — the team — are clearly not giving up on her. Trainers who keep running a horse through a rough patch either see something the results don't yet show, or they are searching for the right race that suits her. At three years old, there is still time for things to click, and plenty of horses have taken until their second or third season to find their feet. But Windsor Lily will need to find some improvement soon if she is going to reward the patience being shown in her.
