Wild Berries

The recent form is mixed. In the last six races, the horse has finished eleventh, first, eleventh again, thirteenth, seventh, and fourteenth. That win in the middle of the sequence is the standout, but the eleventh-place finishes either side of it and the fourteenth just last time out suggest Wild Berries remains unreliable—a horse that can produce on its day but is far from a sure thing. The trainer Ross O'Sullivan, based at Kilcullen in County Kildare, has had a strong season with forty winners from the yard, so there is clearly skill there to work with the young horse. Whether Wild Berries will develop into a regular winner or remain a one-hit wonder depends entirely on what happens over the next few months. At least it is still racing and still learning.
