That said, it's worth keeping a sense of perspective. Two races is almost nothing in a career, and two-year-olds are essentially still learning what racing is. The fact that Whiskey Galore ran just yesterday means the yard — sorry, the team — are clearly keeping the horse active and looking for improvement.
The trainer is Michael Bell, one of the more respected figures operating out of Newmarket, the heartbeat of British flat racing. His yard has sent out 44 winners already this season, which tells you this isn't a quiet backwater operation — Bell knows how to get horses ready to perform, and Whiskey Galore is in capable hands even if the results haven't arrived yet. Whether this horse can find a race to click in remains to be seen, but at two years old, the story is very much still being written.
