The problem is consistency. Since that April victory, Wezzeer has raced four more times and managed only two placings (a second and a third), with two unplaced runs in between. The most recent form — a third-place finish just yesterday — shows the horse is still in work and still trying, but the trail has gone cold. Four months without another win is a long spell, especially for a young horse still building a record. At this stage in a three-year-old's career, momentum matters as much as raw ability, and right now Wezzeer's record sits at 1 win from 5 races (20% win rate) — respectable enough for a yard as busy as Varian's, but not outstanding. The question now is whether another run over the right distance and on the right ground can reignite what looked promising in the spring.
