Wearelongterm

Trained by Dianne Sayer at Hackthorpe in Cumbria, Wearelongterm races primarily in Class 4 events—a solid middle tier where decent horses compete for modest prize money. In that grade alone, it has managed nothing from eleven races. Its last six outings tell the story of a consistent but frustrating run: it picked up a third place and a fifth, with blanks and lower placings filling the gaps. For a horse of its age and experience, the lack of a breakthrough win is striking. Most horses find at least one race they can win; Wearelongterm hasn't yet. Whether it's simply not quite quick enough at this level, or whether the right race and the right day will finally arrive, remains to be seen. What's clear is that patience—both from the yard and the betting public—is running thin.
