Vesper Honey

Baker's yard at Epsom Downs has been productive this season, sending out 14 winners, so there is clearly competence in the stable. For a young horse early in her career, a sequence of runs like this—most recently a fifth place sandwiched between two ninth-place finishes—is fairly ordinary. Two-year-olds are still learning what racing demands, and Vesper Honey is still in that discovery phase. Whether she will develop into a worthwhile racehorse depends on whether those runs show promise or simply mark time before she either improves sharply or proves not quite talented enough for the sport. The yard's willingness to race her regularly suggests they see something worth developing, even if the results have not yet arrived.
