What is worth paying attention to is who has the horse in their care. Gary and Josh Moore, based at Lower Beeding in West Sussex, have sent out 99 winners already this season — that is a yard operating at serious volume and in serious form. Trainers do not rack up that kind of tally by accident; it takes organisation, good horses, and the ability to place them in the right races at the right time. The fact that Ventura Highway sits in that stable means it has every opportunity to improve on that debut seventh when the yard — sorry, when the team — decide the time is right to run it again.
For now, Ventura Highway is a blank page. One run, no wins, no places. Come back in a few months.
