Velora

Velora is a two-year-old still finding her feet on the racecourse. She made her debut just over a week ago and finished seventh, which is the kind of result that tells you very little — except that there is work to do. Her trainer, Sir Mark Prescott, runs one of the most successful yards in Newmarket and has sent out 47 winners already this season, so there is serious racing expertise behind her. At this stage, a single outing means almost nothing. Plenty of horses need time to understand what racing is about, and a debut seventh does not rule out a promising future. The question now is whether Velora improves when she runs again.
