The recent form figures — 3, 3, 5, 10, 4, reading from oldest to most recent — show a mixed picture. Those two third-place finishes early on suggested a horse capable of competing, but a tenth and then a fifth followed, before a fourth place just yesterday. Still racing and still finding form, Vega Storm remains very much a work in progress. Zero wins from five races means the team are still waiting for that breakthrough moment, and at three years old there is still time to find it.
The yard behind this horse gives genuine cause for optimism. Richard and Peter Fahey operate out of Musley Bank in North Yorkshire, and they have already sent out 23 winners this season — a strong, productive yard with the experience and quality to get horses performing. Having capable hands in charge matters, and Vega Storm is in a good place to develop. Whether the next run delivers that elusive first win remains to be seen, but this is a horse that is active, in training, and not far off.
