The recent form tells a similar story. Looking at the last six outings, Uptaurintop has two third-place finishes to its name, a fourth, and a couple of blanks in between — solid enough to suggest it belongs at this level, but nothing to suggest a win is just around the corner. It raced as recently as yesterday, which at least confirms it is fit, healthy, and being kept busy by Eugene M O'Sullivan's yard in Lombardstown, County Cork.
O'Sullivan has sent out four winners this season, which is a modest but respectable return for a yard of this size. Uptaurintop, unfortunately, has not been one of them. At six years old, the horse is well past the early learning stage — this is no longer a young horse still figuring things out. The places are there. The win, so far, is not.
