The colt broke through for his first win at Leopardstown on 18 October 2025, then went silent for seven months before landing another victory at Listowel on 31 May 2026. That long gap between wins tells you something: Unauthorized can do it, but getting him to do it consistently remains a puzzle. His form since that Listowel success has been erratic. In his last six races he has finished second once and seventh once, with a run of mid-field performances sandwiched between. He was last out just a day ago, suggesting the yard is keeping him active and searching for his next opportunity.

Trained by Aidan Melia at Monasterevin in County Kildare, Unauthorized belongs to a yard that has sent out only two winners all season—a modest win rate that hints these are not horses at the highest level. That context matters: Unauthorized's two wins may be hard-won, but they are also genuine achievements at the level he is competing. The challenge now is whether the horse can build on his Listowel success and turn sporadic victories into something more regular. So far, the signs suggest he remains a work in progress.
