The recent form figures tell a difficult story. Reading from the latest race backwards: 17th, 8th, 22nd, 4th, 15th, 4th. Those two fourth-place finishes show the horse is capable of running respectably on its day, but the bigger numbers — finishing 17th and 22nd — suggest those better efforts have been hard to reproduce consistently. Racing is unforgiving in that way; a horse that hits the frame occasionally but can't build on it tends to drift toward the back of the field more often than not.
McLoughlin's yard has been in decent shape this season, sending out nine winners, so the operation clearly knows how to get horses winning. Whether Twotolose can find a race that suits well enough to get off the mark remains to be seen. Having raced just yesterday, the horse is clearly in active campaigning, and sometimes a change of luck arrives at an unexpected moment. For now, though, the name says it all — and the record hasn't argued back.
