Tumuch

The recent form makes for tough reading. Over the last six races, the best finish recorded is sixth place — twice — with an eighth and a twelfth sandwiched in between. That kind of consistency in the wrong direction is frustrating for any yard, and at seven years old, time is not exactly on Tumuch's side. Horses tend to find their level by this stage, and so far that level appears to be finishing in the pack rather than leading it.

What keeps things mildly interesting is that Tumuch raced just one day ago, so this is a horse still being actively campaigned. The team clearly believe there is something worth persisting with, whether that is a particular type of race or a set of conditions that might finally unlock a better performance. A first win remains possible — plenty of horses have broken their duck after long waits — but Tumuch will need to find some meaningful improvement to make it happen.
