That top end matters here. Triple Trade's natural home is Class 2 — one rung below the very best races in Britain — and it has won twice from 10 races at that level. A 20% win rate in that company is not something to gloss over. These are competitive fields filled with talented horses, and holding your own, let alone winning, requires genuine quality. The back-to-back wins at Cheltenham in November 2023 and then at Ascot on 23 December 2023 paint a picture of a horse hitting a purple patch at exactly the right tracks, on the biggest stages, in front of the biggest crowds.
The partnership with jockey Brendan Powell is central to the story. In 26 races together, Powell has steered Triple Trade to 7 wins — a win rate of 27%, or better than 1 in every 4 rides. That is a meaningful relationship built on repetition and trust, the kind of combination where horse and rider clearly bring out the best in each other.
Joe Tizzard trains Triple Trade from his yard in Milborne Port, Dorset, and it is a busy, productive operation — 54 winners sent out this season alone. Tizzard clearly knows how to keep a horse ticking, and Triple Trade is evidence of that. The horse won at Sandown Park as recently as 3 January 2026, raced just a day ago, and recent form of two wins from the last six outings suggests it is very much in the middle of a good spell rather than winding down.
At ten years old, some horses start to fade. Triple Trade, fresh off a win at a top venue just three months ago and still racing at the highest everyday level, shows no sign of doing anything of the sort.
