Trek Home

Trained by Daniel James Murphy out of Curragh in Co Kildare, Trek Home is part of a yard that has sent out 14 winners this season, so the infrastructure and know-how are clearly there. The question is when — or whether — Trek Home can tap into it. Having raced just yesterday, this is a horse very much in the thick of its campaign, and with three finishes of fourth, the yard will be hoping that a change of circumstances — a different trip, a different surface, or simply a weaker field — eventually unlocks what a placing already hints is lurking underneath.

At this stage, Trek Home reads as a horse that turns up, tries hard, and goes home without the prize. Sometimes that's all the story there is at this point. The next few races will tell us a great deal more.
