Windsor clearly suits him in a way that other courses do not. His last visit, seven weeks ago, ended in victory, and that recent success underlines he remains in form heading into the second half of 2026.

The worry, if there is one, sits in his recent form. His last six races read 6-10-1-14-22-4: a win just last week, but before that some ordinary efforts further back in that sequence. At five, competing at Class 2 level, Trefor appears to be in the middle rank of the sport—good enough to beat most horses, but not quite at the level of the very best. Yet his Windsor record and those top-level wins suggest Hills believes there is more to extract. Trefor races for a yard that has sent out 29 winners this season, so he sits alongside genuinely competitive horses. He remains active and in work, which means the team have not given up on improving him further.
