What works in Torcalot's favour is who is doing the training. Mrs John Harrington, based at Moone in County Kildare, has sent out 51 winners already this season — that is the kind of output that marks out a serious, well-organised yard. Horses from this stable tend to know what they are doing by the time they hit the track, so the fact that Torcalot has raced only twice suggests patience and a plan rather than a lack of ambition. Having run as recently as yesterday, Torcalot is very much a horse in active campaign, and there will be more opportunities coming quickly.

Two races is simply not enough to write anyone off. Plenty of horses take time to find their feet, and a competent trainer with 51 winners on the board this season is not going to waste a horse's time if they believe there is something there worth nurturing.
