The first of those wins came at Leopardstown in October 2024, and the second — most recently — at The Curragh in November 2025, about five months ago now. That second win is worth noting because The Curragh is Ireland's premier flat track, and winning there at any level takes a genuine performance. At seven years old, Titanium is an experienced, well-travelled horse who has clearly found its niche rather than its ceiling.
The current form, though, makes for sobering reading. Six races without a win, and the most recent run — just yesterday — does not show up yet on the scorecard. Regular partner Ben Coen has yet to find the winner's enclosure together with Titanium in five attempts, which is the sort of stat that starts conversations in the yard about whether a change might shake things up. Murphy's team has been in good shape this season — 18 winners is a healthy return — so the support around the horse remains strong.
The lesson Titanium keeps teaching anyone willing to listen is patience and conditions. When the skies open and the ground turns soft and heavy, and the distance sits somewhere between a mile and a mile and two furlongs, this is a horse that competes properly. Outside those conditions, it has placed six times without winning, which tells you it is not without ability — it simply has a very clear preference, and rewards you handsomely when you respect it.
