Tinkety Tonk

The horse's recent runs paint a picture of inconsistency typical of a young racer still finding its feet. In the past month, it has swung from that first win last week to a sixth place just before it, then a fifth, and further back a twelfth. These ups and downs suggest Tinkety Tonk hasn't yet settled into a reliable pattern — some days it runs well, other days it doesn't click. Trainer Hughie Morrison, based at East Ilsley in Berkshire, has built a capable yard that has already sent out 20 winners this season, so there is proper horsemanship behind the scenes. That first victory at Southwell should give Tinkety Tonk confidence for what comes next, though there is plainly more work to do before this horse becomes a consistent performer.
