Timandi

The recent form makes for tough reading too. Looking at the last six races, Timandi has finished 12th, 5th, 5th, 14th, 12th, and 9th (reading from most recent back). Those two fifth-place finishes stand out as the closest it has come to a result, but fifth is still well outside the places, and the 14th and 12th-place efforts either side of them suggest inconsistency rather than progress. A horse that finished 14th one race and 9th the race before that is not one quietly creeping up on the field.

Timandi is trained by James M Barrett, who operates out of Goresbridge in County Kilkenny. The yard has sent out 2 winners so far this season, which gives a sense of the scale of the operation — it is a smaller stable, and results have been modest. Timandi raced just one day ago, so it is firmly active and its the yard clearly have not given up on finding a race it can make an impression in. At 4 years old, there is still time, but the clock on a horse's development does not run forever, and 13 races without even a place finish means Timandi will need to show something new fairly soon.
