What we do know is the breeding. Tiger Rouge is by Austrian School out of a mare by Alderbrook, two names that will mean something to followers of jumping in Britain and Ireland. Alderbrook was a Cheltenham Festival winner, and that jumping pedigree suggests Tiger Rouge has been pointed toward a career over obstacles rather than on the flat. The fact that a horse arrives at five without having raced is not unusual in that world — jumpers are often given time to grow and mature before their the yard ask anything of them competitively.
Beyond that, the first race will tell us everything. Debut runners are the ultimate unknown quantity, and sometimes the most exciting ones.
