Thurman

The recent form tells a similar story. In the last six outings, Thurman has finished eighth, ninth, seventh, thirteenth, and fifth — a run that shows occasional glimpses of competitiveness but no real momentum. Last time out, just a day ago, it ran fifth, which was its best effort in this stretch. Whether that represents genuine improvement or simply a favourable set of circumstances is hard to judge, but the horse remains active and its trainer, C A Murphy from the yard in Gorey, Co Wexford, continues to send it out. The Murphy yard has already produced nine winners this season, so the infrastructure and know-how are there — Thurman simply hasn't been the beneficiary of that success.
