Thurlestone is still hunting for a breakthrough after two races without a top-3 finish. The 3-year-old, trained by
Nick Scholfield at Lambourn, has finished fifth and seventh in recent outings, with the most recent run coming just a day ago. Scholfield's yard has been in good form this season with 22 winners, so there is clearly quality at the operation — but Thurlestone has yet to show it on the track. At this early stage of a racing career, a couple of runs without success is hardly unusual, and the horse remains active and competing. Whether Thurlestone can turn things around and find the form to finish in the top three remains to be seen.
