Thimble

She runs out of Edward Smyth-Osbourne's yard in Upper Lambourn, one of the most famous training villages in British racing, tucked into the Berkshire Downs where horses have been galloped across the chalk hills for generations. Smyth-Osbourne has sent out 8 winners already this season, so the operation clearly knows how to get a horse ready to perform. The question for Thimble is simply when her turn comes.

With only two races to her name and her last run just a day ago, there is very little to read into yet — and that is almost the most interesting thing about her. She is right at the beginning of her story, and the next few months will tell us a great deal about what she is capable of.
