What really brings The Gay Blade to life is his recent form. He has won 3 of his last 6 races, with that sequence reading 1-4-1-2-6-1 going back from his most recent run — a win at Carlisle just this week. That kind of purple patch at this stage of a career speaks to a horse in great nick. He particularly thrives on normal ground, winning 4 of 17 races in those conditions — nearly 1 in 4, which is a noticeably better return than his overall record suggests.

Hamilton Park is where he's made some of his best memories.
