The Flying Rambler

Recent form shows inconsistency: a fourth-place finish most recently, followed by a thirteenth a race before that, and a seventh further back. These are the kind of results that keep a horse in work but test the patience of those backing it. Trainer J P Dempsey, based at Carbury in County Kildare, has had a productive season with 16 winners sent out from the yard, so The Flying Rambler at least operates within a stable that knows how to develop and place horses competitively. The horse raced just yesterday, which means it is still actively campaigned—still being given chances to break through.

At this point in its career, The Flying Rambler remains a work in progress. Whether it will ever win a race depends on finding the right race type, the right ground, and the right pace setup. Until then, it remains one of those honest performers who show up, try hard, and go home without the prize.
