The Bitters

Trainer Antony Brittain operates out of Warthill in North Yorkshire and has sent out 22 winners this season, which shows the yard clearly knows how to get horses winning. The fact that The Bitters hasn't clicked yet is not a reflection on the operation around it — some horses simply take longer to find their stride, and Brittain's record suggests the patience and know-how are there to help it along. With the horse having raced just one day ago, the team are clearly keeping it busy and giving it every chance to learn on the job.

At this stage, The Bitters is essentially a work in progress. Three races is a small sample, and plenty of horses that look lost early in their careers go on to find a race that suits them perfectly. The next few outings will tell us a great deal more about where this horse's ceiling really is.
