At six years old, there is at least some time to turn things around, and McLoughlin's yard has been in decent form this season with 10 winners on the board. Whether Thatsmyroadie features in that tally any time soon remains to be seen. Having raced just 12 days ago, the horse is clearly active and being kept busy, which suggests the team still believes there is something to find. A finishing position of 11th in its second race hints at a slight step forward from that grim 17th, so there may be a very gradual upward curve — though it is a small comfort when the horse is yet to get its nose in front or even threaten a place.

For now, Thatsmyroadie is a horse that has not yet shown its supporters much to celebrate. Three chances, nothing to show. The next run will be the one to watch.
