What makes the situation more intriguing is the yard behind the horse. Dr Richard Newland and Jamie Insole, based at Elmbridge in Worcestershire, have sent out 49 winners already this season — that is a yard in seriously good form, the kind of operation that knows how to place a horse to its best advantage. When a stable of that quality keeps running a horse, it usually means they believe in what they're seeing at home, even when the racecourse results don't yet reflect it. That's Enough raced just yesterday, so whatever they're looking for, the search is very much still on.
For now, the horse remains a work in progress — one place from five races is a thin return, but in the hands of a trainer firing on all cylinders this season, there may still be a chapter to be written.
