That one win came at Wexford on 24 July 2025, a track that also happens to be the home circuit for trainer Paul Nolan, based just down the road in Enniscorthy. Nolan's yard has been in good form this season, sending out 25 winners, so there is clearly plenty going right at that operation. Whether Tequila Talkin' can be part of that momentum more regularly remains the question.
The most recent run was just yesterday, and looking at the last six outings — two eighth-place finishes, then a blank, then a fourth, a second, and a third — there is actually a quietly encouraging shape to it if you read it in reverse. The horse has been finishing closer and closer to the front, and that runner-up spot is a real sign of life. Consistency has been the missing ingredient, but the trajectory is pointing in the right direction.
One relationship worth watching is with jockey Conor Stone-Walsh, who has partnered Tequila Talkin' five times without a win between them. That is not necessarily a damning statistic — plenty of good combinations take time to find their rhythm — but it is a dynamic that has yet to produce a result, and it will be interesting to see whether the team sticks with that partnership or tries something different as they look to add to the winner's tally.
