His sole career win came at Wolverhampton back in January, and it arrived in a Class 6 race — the lowest tier of competition. He's actually thrived in that grade: 1 win from 3 races at Class 6 level, a 33 per cent win rate that proves he can win when the opposition is modest. Since that January success seven months ago, though, he's struggled to find another way past the post. His recent form reads 7-2-1-7-3-10 across his last six races, showing glimpses — a couple of seconds and a third place — but no winner. He's raced ten times overall, accumulating one win and three places, a 10 per cent win rate that tells you he's in that broad middle ground where improvement or decline could go either way.

Tenadaay races for the Fergal O'Brien yard in Gloucestershire, a productive operation that has sent out 90 winners already this season. He raced just yesterday, so he's an active, busy horse — still competing regularly and still his trainer's project. At this point, he looks like a horse searching for a race that suits: get him back over that distance he loves, find him a field at his level, and there's every chance that January form shows what he can do when everything aligns. For now, though, he remains a work in progress.
