Tarmonbarry Kid

Trained by the father-and-son team of Richard and Peter Fahey at Musley Bank in North Yorkshire, Tarmonbarry Kid is in capable hands. The Fahey yard has sent out two winners already this season, and with a horse this young still learning its trade, there's no particular reason to panic about a winless start. Three-year-olds often need time to work out what racing is actually about, and four runs is a relatively small sample to draw firm conclusions from.

What's worth watching is whether that third-place effort signals a horse that's beginning to put things together. It raced just one day ago, which means it's very much in the thick of an active campaign right now. Whether the Faheys push on quickly or give it a short break, the next run will be telling — a horse that's placed once from four races either finds a way through soon, or the question marks start to grow.
