Botti's yard has sent out 45 winners this season, which tells you this is a stable that knows how to get horses ready to perform. A two-year-old placed second in one of its first two races is not a horse to write off — young horses take time to learn their job, and finishing second shows at least a degree of ability.
The sixth-place finish is harder to spin, but with just two races to go on, it is far too early to draw firm conclusions. Supreme Star raced just one day ago, so whatever that run revealed, we will soon find out whether the team thinks there is more to come.
