The recent form tells a good story. In its last five races, Superior Choice has won three times, placed twice, and never finished out of the frame. The most recent win came at Hamilton Park on 17 July, five weeks ago, and the horse has raced again since then, finishing fourth last time out. That fourth-place finish matters less than it might: horses at this level are learning all the time, and Superior Choice has shown it can win and bounce back consistently. A win rate of roughly three wins in every five races is the kind of record that keeps trainers and owners very interested indeed.
John & Thady Gosden's Newmarket yard is one of the top racing operations in Britain, and the fact that Superior Choice is trained there counts for something. The yard has already sent out 140 winners this season, which speaks to its strength in depth and eye for a good horse. Superior Choice broke its duck at Leicester on 25 April and has proven itself capable of winning at different tracks since then. It remains an active runner and is still very much in the game.
