Subiaco

That sole victory came at Dundalk in January 2026, and it stands as the defining moment of the career to date. Dundalk is an all-weather track that runs through the winter months, and getting off the mark there showed Subiaco could perform when conditions demanded it. The problem since then is that the win hasn't been followed up — the last six runs read as a blank, an eighth, a fifteenth, a fourth, a win, and an eleventh going back further, which is a mixed picture at best. The run to fourth is encouraging, but the fifteenth suggests there have been days when things have gone badly wrong.

Subiaco is trained by Kieran P Cotter, who operates out of Portarlington in County Laois. The yard has sent out seven winners already this season, so it's a stable in decent form — which makes the task of finding another winning opportunity for this horse a realistic one rather than a hopeful one. With a race just yesterday, Subiaco is clearly being kept busy, and at this stage of a young horse's career that activity is often how trainers find out exactly what they have on their hands.
